Karazhan Curator Tactics
Tactics:
The MT should grab the Curator in the middle of the hallway. Turn him with his back to the raid for safety. Once the MT is in position, the DPS and Healers should move fast and spread out. The reason to spread out is to make sure the summoned Astral Flares arent hitting to many targets at the same time.
The person who has been choicen to soak up Hateful Bolts, should position himself relativly close to the Curator. Make sure that person is standing closer then any healer atleast, so healers never get targeted by a Hateful Bolt.
Healers should make sure to spread out here so they dont clump together and get interupted by Astral flares getting close to them. The primary source of damage done, will be the Tank on the Curator, and the DPS getting damaged from Astral Flares. The Tank should get damage at a regular rate without to much burst damage. The DPS however might take alot of burst damage at some point, and will need to be closy watched. The person soaking Hateful Bolts will only need a heal now and then.
Once the raid is in postion, DPS should be ready for the first Astral Flare to spawn. Once it appears, DPS should nuke and engage it right away. Maximum damage during short time is needed to bring each Flare down before the next one spawn. At some times, the DPS will be abit unfocused and slow down, allowing a second flare to spawn before the first one is dead. Make sure not to panic, and try focus more and kill flares faster.
A total of 10 flares each 10 seconds will spawn before the first Evocation of the Curator. Once the last Flare has been summoned, and the Curator goes into Evocation mode, the DPS need to kill that Flare as fast as they can, and throw in as much damage on the Curator as they can, before the Evocation is finished, and the next Flare spawns.
During evocation, the Curator will take 200% more damage. It is possable to do alot of damage to the Curator during this time, which is also needed since DPS will be focusing on Flares most of the time otherwise. Throw in as much damage as you can, the MT should have built enough treat to make sure each DPS can nuke at will during Evocation on the Curator. Throwing on DOTS right before evocation starts, is a good source of constant damge. Healers with this option, should apply DOTS on the Curator also.
When Evocation is finsihed, the Curator will summon a Astral Flare right away. So the DPS need to be ready for that. Continue to burn down Flares until the next Evocation, and then throw in as much damage as possable. A raid with decent DPS should need 3-4 Evocations maximum to get the Curator into Enrage mode at 15% health. But having more Evocations then that is not a bad thing, aslong as the raid dont reach the 12 minute mark. When 12 minutes have passed, the Curator goes berserk and will almost certainly cause the raid to wipe.
Once the Curator enrages, the healers need to focus healing on the MT mostly, since the damage done to the MT will be increased alot. The DPS need to nuke the Curator down fast during Enrage mode, to make sure the healers dont run out of mana. No more Astral Flares will be summoned when the Curator has enraged. However, he will increase the speed of which he throws Hateful Bolts. But if the DPS is fast enough, healers should have no trouble keeping both the MT and Hateful Bolt tank alive until the Curator dies.
